SoCal Color Run

This past weekend my friend Lisa and I, along with some of her coworkers, ran in the happiest 5K on the planet!

When Lisa first brought up the idea, I wasn't sure if 5Ks were gonna be for me. Like I've mentioned, I'm not a runner. I'm quite lazy. But the idea sounded so fun and unique that I couldn't say no. In between agreeing and running this race, we came up with the idea of doing the Mud Run. After tackling the Mud Run, I knew I could do this 5K!

We were so excited at the beginning of the day we got to the race around 6:45am... for a 9am race start time hehe. A word of advice, if you are running this 5K yourself and either you haven't picked up your packet in advance and/or you are a morning person, get there early! This is our "we didn't wait in any lines for parking or our packets" dance.

After we snagged our packets, we had plenty of time to take pictures, do a little shopping, and goof around before the race started.

After hanging out a bit, we meet up with the rest of our crew we headed for the front of the start line!

Here's the whole crew waiting to run!
This is the last time we'll be this clean!

And off we go!

Thank goodness for our trusty photographer, aka Boyfriend! He tried to stick with us but he wasn't about to run a 5K with my baby (aka Camera) hehe so he headed straight to the finish line.

These ladies pushed me through to the end!

It wasn't smooth the whole way through. I walked a bit of the way but I pushed myself. And my fellow runners pushed me. In the end, we crossed the finish line together, all color-ed up!

As you can image this race made for some good before and afters.

Like this one:
 And this one:

And then there was the "color cloud."
This might have been my very favorite part of the whole race.
I just can't get over how COLORFUL and FUN it all was.

We obviously enjoyed ourselves quite a bit :0)

2/3 of my 5K goal are done but I don't think I'll stop at three. Especially if they are as fun as this!

So, Color Run is coming to San Diego... who's coming with??

p.s. I promise food is coming next!

  1. I am doing this run in MA in July. I can't wait especially after seeing your pictures! I can't really run yet. My longest run is 1/2 mile. I'm walk running 2 miles every other day with my avg run being 10'42" mile. I think I may push myself a little harder tomorrow and see if I can go further than 1/2 at a time.

  2. I ran this too! So much fun. I got there later and will remember to get there earlier - traffic was ridiculous.

I picked up your dip bowls today. It was the first thing I ate. Thanks for doing something savory!

  3. Oh My.... I am so glad that I signed up for this race. You were not kidding. This looks like so much fun. And now I need to go find a tutu to wear to the race as well!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I LOVE to read what you have to say. Love love love!
