First Actual Muffin Recipe

I have a secret.

I'm a little embarassed to tell you this.

I really hope you stick around after I confess this to you...

I have never made muffins before.
I have never made muffins before.

PHEW! It felt good to finally got that off my chest. Lil Ms. Muffin Pan has never made a muffin in her life. I hope you still love me cause all that is about to change.

I made blueberry muffins tonight with my brother!

This is my brother and I working hard.
We are matching. It was on accident. It's kinda cute though. My butt looks flat. Not so cute.
I asked both my dad and mom to take photos. Most of them came out like this.
Or this.
And finally this. Nice one, Mom! I still love the fact that we match. Go Sun Devils!

OH I forgot something! These are for the Station 19 Fire House. My brother is going to be a firefighter. He's kinda awesome. He has already passed the EMT test, so he's officially an EMT. He went to Arizona State. *See Devils shout out.* That's beside the point. On point, he is taking these yummy muffins to the guys over there at Station 19. I hope they enjoy them. Go Firefighters!

Oh finally, these were ridiculously easy. Easy Peasy. Okay, that's all. Recipe time.

Easy-Peasy Firefighter Impressing Blueberry Muffins
Recipe from AllRecipes

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Makes about 6 large muffins

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease muffin cups or line with muffin liners.
2. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, salt and baking powder. Place vegetable oil into a 1 cup measuring cup; add the egg and enough milk to fill the cup. Mix this with flour mixture. They will be fluffier and have bigger tops if you keep the mixing to a minimum. Fold in the blueberries. Fill muffin cups right to the top, and sprinkle with crumb topping mixture.
3. To Make Crumb Topping: Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix with fork, and sprinkle over muffins before baking.
4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until done.

  1. Wow! That's pretty funny you hadn't made muffins before. I'm glad you have now. I'll have to try this recipe sometime soon!

  2. Well, for your first attempt, they look delish!! You should try chocolate chip banana muffins. Very unique combination of flavors -- and you can't go wrong with chocolate!!
